A Point Of View

This Blog will mostly contain the comments and articles I felt strong enough about to leave a comment. I do want others to leave comments as well because I'd be curious about what others think. However, if you plan to leave insulting remarks then don't bother. You don't have to agree with me just no bullying will be tolerated.

  • Book Claims That Oprah Had Lesbian Affairs And Lied About Molestation

True or not true the point is that it is unnecessary to bring out this information at this point. If she lied about the lesbian affairs I can understand why and the molestation well that is on her. I don’t think lying about your past is good but if you don’t decide to share certain personal info I can understand that.

Have you ever been faked out? Probably not as bad as this girl.
Constance McMillen had more than her [unwanted] 15 minutes of fame when her Mississippi high school prohibited and then canceled the prom because she wanted to bring her girlfriend. The news story which made headlines earlier this month has finally come to an end— but it’s not a happy ending by any means.
McMillen attended a “decoy prom” which was allegedly set up by school officials to keep her from going to the school’s real prom (located in a secret location). McMillen was one of a seven students that showed up to the fake prom. Two of them were mentally handicapped.
First of all, I don’t understand why the school blew up over this controversy to begin with. Why is it still a problem that someone is openly gay in the 21st century? Secondly, I can’t even wrap my mind around people going to this extent. It angers me because this is yet another example of something that is setting us back in our efforts to overcome discrimination.
Following the staged prom, McMillen addressed the handicapped that attended. “They had the time of their lives,” she said. “That’s the one good thing that come out of this, [these kids] didn’t have to worry about people making fun of them [at their prom].”
I think it’s great that she can see the silver lining, but I don’t think she should have been forced to look for it in the first place.

I don’t even understand why they even made a fuse over it in the first place. Being gay is nothing new and they need to get over themselves. As if canceling the prom would stop them from being gay magically. I am scared for the two girls in  that town from here on out kids can be less than understanding.

  • Golfer Daly On Tiger’s coming back to golf and scandal.

My view on the whole thing is yeah he should not have cheated on his wife. However, had he cheated on golf or something I could see people losing it on him for that. But this stuff needs to be between Tiger, his higher power and  his wife! What we think is not important! He owes us nothing! (even what I think is not important as I am writing this but that is my two cents.)

  • The striptease that is American culture...

March 31, 2010 (An article about Erykah Badu’s Video Window Seat)

I agree with the fact that she should have made sure there would not be any children present. However, I agree with bezoar667 in that at the museums there is nudity and we take kids there.  Also I would not call it a sexual act because she was not flaunting it in a sexual manner. There is a difference between being naked and being a stripper and provoking someone to arousal. But I respect your opinion.
